20 Months In

Most people’s minds are mush.

It’s become increasingly harder to motivate myself to leave the house. What, with winter already here, snow on the ground and general yucky weather outside, I have to force myself get dressed (I live in my pajamas) and go out and about. I still do, however, make the effort.

I do so because I feel it’s important to get outside and see what’s going on outside my little bubble world and what I’ve found is absolutely terrifying. People are still masking up like prisoners in some dystopian movie. The shops in town all require masking again. Pure insanity, folks.

It doesn’t matter that actual science, actual logic, has long since proven that masking is extremely harmful to your health. No one seems to care. There’s a strange anxiety now involved in going into these stores without conforming, without wearing a mask, but I do it anyway.

I’m not sick, nor have I been sick, nor will I ever get sick!

If 20 months of not being cautious, yet still not contracting this deadly virus doesn’t clue you in, then you’re never going to get it. If you can’t see what’s going on by now, then your mind is mush and there’s really no way to reach you.

20 months in and the people are lost.

Speak up!

Personally, I’m going to continue to use my voice as much as possible until they silence me forever. I know that’ll happen eventually, but I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t at least try to fight back against the tyranny, against the monsters that threaten us.

THE SPIRITUAL BATTLE

This guy’s my Irish brother, I kid you not. If we had more like him as opposed to all the maskers and jabbers, we wouldn’t be in this awful mess.

20 months in and I face the new day with a renewed sense of assurance, not about our overall chances of survival, but about my own unique role in the scope of things to come.

As far as the rest of the world is concerned…
